The battalion was formed in 27 ABY as part of the [[Dark Council]]’s military reformation following the [[Battle of Antei]]. Knowing that well-trained infantry formed the backbone of any military, the [[Grand Master]] and his agents ensured that the Army of the Iron Throne would be no different in that regard. With countless worlds felled by the [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yuuzhan_Vong Yuuzhan Vong] onslaught, the shaken galaxy offered no shortage of fighting beings whose militaries had collapsed and desperately sought survival through employment of their skills.

In 30 ABY the battalion was employed with the retaking of Antei. Under direct orders, the 3rd Battalion was, along with other units from I Legion, assigned to the reclamation of the Dark Hall. To do this, the 502nd, had to venture through the northern mountains of Narmar, fight its way across the Sunside of Antei, and come back down into the Shadow Land.
One of the battalion’s major objectives in the first few days of the War was to secure the passages of the Shadow Lands, and to keep them open until reinforcements could engage the enemy in the region.

The 3rd Battalion was organized into four companies including a Headquarters & Headquarters Company (HHC), overseeing battalion administration, and three rifle companies. Within each rifle company were three line platoons and one headquarters platoon. Each line platoon consisted of three line squads and one weapons squad.

Squads were the key elements of the rifle company consisting normally of 9-10 soldiers. A rifle squad broke down into two fire teams of four individuals each guided by a Team Leader (TL) overseen by the Squad Leader (SL).

Weapons squad broke down into three gun teams of three individuals overseen by their Gun Team Leader under the Weapons Squad Leader (WSL) who was often the senior enlisted member of the platoon next to the Platoon Sergeant (PSG).

Just after the secret society known as the Krath was founded by Satal Keto and his cousin Aleema Keto, Satal took it upon himself to create his own personal army of strong force sensitive Krath. He was the only one with the knowledge of this army, and called it ‘Vengeance of Keto’. Unfortunately, he was killed by Ulic Qel-Droma in a fierce lightsaber duel before he could recruit a reasonable amount of warriors, leaving the army small, weak, and still developing.

For years, the twelve soldiers trained, hoping to be powerful enough to fulfill Keto’s wishes and rule the galaxy. Eventually, however, they could not overcome the power of the force, and died, leaving the base deserted.

Alas, there was hope, for thousands of years later a young explorer from the [[Dark Jedi Brotherhood]] stumbled across their secret base. He entered it and saw the evidence of the ancient army.. Returning to [[Clan Satal Keto]], they formed Battleteam "Keto's Vengeance" in memory of the lost army. Over time the team grow stronger, and when the [[Dictum of Two Skies]] took place, the team moved onto [[House Satal Keto]]. Here, it continued to grow, but was unknowning of their coming doom...

Keto’s Vengeance served [[House Satal Keto]] with full devotion, helping the young house continue to grow and expand. During the [[Sixth Great Jedi War]], they were called upon to fight alongside [[House Exar Kun]] in the name of Clan Plagueis. This one battle, though, would prove to be their last.

Eager to make a quick and decisive strike against their enemy, the young Tetrarch leading the group walked his team directly into an ambush. Keto’s Vengeance had little chance and all but two of the team were killed or severely wounded in the slaughter.

After the war, the last two remaining members moved on and Keto’s Vengeance was disbanded. To this day, talk continues among the members of [[House Satal Keto]] about the day that the vengeance of Satal Keto will once again rise and bring glory to [[Clan Plagueis]].
