Eduardo Griffin is a long term figure in the government of Yridia IX and the current Governor of Eden City. He is a man who will do almost anything to gain influence and personal power and nothing to risk losing it.

Personal Life
Early Life
Eduardo was born on Coruscant to Paul and Carrey Griffin in 17 BBY. His father was an immigrant from Corellia while his mother was a local to the urban planet. He had one sister, who died soon after birth along with his mother.

Paul raised his son in a government sponsored apartment, within five minutes from his work as an advisor to one of the Emperor's many bureaucrats.

Education
During the final years of the Galactic Empire, before the fall of Emperor Palpatine, Griffin attended the Diplomatic Institute. He clashed with a number of his professors, whose views were polar opposite of his own, but managed to externally skew his belief; a skill which later aided him in rocketing through positions in the government of his home planet.

During his time at the university, he met the woman that would later become his wife, Fiona Verheart. The pair had numerous vocal altercations while in the privacy of their respective apartments. In public, however, the couple formed a picture of perfection; everyone close to them thought that they were happy together, which only enhanced Griffin's public image.

Griffin graduated top of his class with a degree in Consular and Defence Diplomacy.

Political Life
An Opening
Griffin, thanks to a combination of his father and his studies, gained an internship within his father’s office in 1 ABY. He adapted quickly to the stark differences to what he had learned during his studies and how the real world operated under the Galactic Empire. By 3 ABY, Griffin was appointed as the Empire’s ambassador to the Yridia system and relocated to Eden City on Yridia IX. This was to be Griffin’s first long term trip off of Coruscant and away from his father.

When the Empire fractured a year later and with the ushering in of the New Republic very little changed for Griffin and except for whom he reported to on Coruscant. He had no strong feelings about the change in power as long as the currency received was still usable for the niceties he had grown to enjoy.

A Dark Presence
Griffin continued to work in Yridia IX's government and made powerful allies in the system. He planted his fingers into a number of lucrative deals, legal and illegal. It wasn’t until 19 ABY that he noticed subtle changes in the government and who was leading it. Key players mysteriously disappeared from office and others were elevated to take their place. Most evident of these changes was the removal of the Governor, who had held the position for ten years. No one was initially promoted to the post, and a state of unrest within the government settled in. Power plays were made for the office by many figures, including Griffin himself, but a vote never went to the public.

In the last weeks of 19 ABY, an off-worlder arrived on Yridia IX, sporting official documentation with the seal of the New Republic that named him the new Governor. No one protested the forced placement, and the tension in the city seemed to settle. Eduardo, however, couldn’t settle a nagging feeling that something deeper and more mysterious was afoot in the Yridia System.

Governorship
The dark truth about Clan Tarentum’s control of the system and the Brotherhood’s existence was revealed to Griffin by the Governor, who was actually an associate of the clan, in 23 ABY. He was offered Governorship during the same meeting, having been told that he would in effect be nothing more than a well paid figurehead. He accepted the proposition an hour later and was confirmed as holding the office the following day.

The first major issue faced by Griffin while he was in office was the Yridian Revolt in 24 ABY, of which he informed Tarentum officials as soon as he caught wind of it. He also secretly supplied information to the Yridian people, hoping that by playing both sides he would retain power regardless of the outcome. After the incident was resolved, he made a show of persecuting anyone he could lay blame on for their part in the revolt, hoping that it would increase his favour with the secretive clan and in turn the size of his pay packet. Around 29 ABY to 30 ABY, however, his viewpoints and motives began to change.

Power Plays
Griffin’s time as Governor saw a number of wars and conflicts brought to the system because of Clan Tarentum’s presence there. Overtime, he grew resentful of the work this placed on his desk in the form of having to find more money to give to the clan to help them rebuild and recover. This also included imposing taxes on the citizen population, which affected his approval ratings as well as the clan's.

The Governor, unbeknownst to Tarentum, sized up the clan through external reports and intelligence. His ultimate aim was to take advantage of the clan's weaker military structure and overall size, hoping to manipulate its leaders for governmental gain by implying a second revolt.

Trivia
*Despite Windos's best efforts to make a suitable first name, the name "Eduardo Griffin" simply makes Tarentum members think of Family Guy - particularly, one episode, when the broken penis of Michaelangelo's David flies through the window of Peters' boss, who grasps it in his surprised hands and exclaims "I shall call you Eduardo!"

The TAW-6A Autopistol is a self-loading slugthrowing weapon designed by Tarentum Armament Works. Firing a relatively low-velocity 13mm heavy metal slug, the TAW6 is primarily employed as a secondary or defensive weapon against infantry based attacks.

Features
The TAW6 boasts rigidly stamped durasteel construction, relatively high cyclic firing rates, repulsor-based inertial compensators, and a variety of other combat-enhancing devices. The first of several slugthrowing weapons from the TAW corporation, the TAW6 is essentially an antique weapon revived with modern technology. Factory-loaded 25 cartridge magazines are standard for this weapon and are disposable. Magnetic guides near the magazine well ensure easy magazine loading during high-stress combat situations. Other features include a retractable shoulder stock, flip-up digital day/night/infrared sighting device, datalinks for numerous armor helmet heads-up-display integration, and multiple standardized attachment options for devices such as vibrobayonets or grenade launchers. Most weapons are finished in a slate-gray camouflage configuration, assuming most combat against Yuuzhan Vong will take place in the cities or onboard military starships.

When it comes to business, the TAW6 is made to kill - no questions asked. Functioning equally well as a pistol, carbine (with stock extended), or submachine gun (with optional 100-round magazines), the TAW6 can deliver 800 metal slugs to the target area in 60 seconds. The revolutionary repulsor-based recoil compensator combines with a visual sensor at the end of the barrel to "memorize" the target picture, and deliver gentle pulses of counteracting force to keep the weapon on target during firing. The result is the consistent ability to place 90% of all shots fired within a 2" circular area at distances as great as 150 yards, regardless of user proficiency. The only downside to this system is that it is impossible to move the weapon off target while it is either discharging, extracting a spent cartridge, or loading a fresh one; when the chamber is locked and the trigger is not depressed, however, the inertial compensator is disabled and the line of sight can be moved once again. Since this entire process occurs in much less than a tenth of a second, users have reported that this feature is unnoticeable to their firing process. Single, quadruple, and fully automatic fire selectors are ambidextrously located on either side of the trigger.

Performance
While the 13mm slug the TAW6 fires is relatively heavy and slow compared to its rifle or machine-gun based brethren, it has proven to perform adequately against Yuuzhan Vong warrior body armor. While a single round with direct armor contact will not penetrate, it will cause cracking or spalling to their crab armor, and multiple (5 to 8) impacts to the same area will cause penetration to the body. In its pistol configuration the TAW6 is intended as a self defense weapon only and is not designed for prolonged attacks against Yuuzhan Vong infantry - it is highly reccomended that users in such roles opt for the TAW-8GP Combat Rifle. The TAW6 functions well as a supporting light rifle in its carbine configuration and excells at close quarters combat in the SMG configuration, slightly edging out the TAW-8GP in effectiveness due to magazine capacity and rate of fire. Users have reported that the TAW6 has distinctly large muzzle flash and a moderately loud report, both of which may either be a negative aspect or a psychological boost in combat.
A holovid display in a Yridia IX market breaks from its Kashyyyk sitcom to commercials. The distinctive logo of Death's Head Consortium - a skull with an iron spike nailed into the cranium - appears, followed by an assertive voice-over and random infantry combat footage.

The TAW-8GP combat rifle, also known as "Reaper", is on the frontlines defending you and your homes against the merciless enemy. Reaper is a new personal infantry weapon from your friends at Death's Head Consortium, based on Yridia II. With simple construction, high rate of fire, and advanced integrated technologies, the brave soldiers of your military are rushing forward, beating back the same aliens who would enslave you. The government of the principality of Yridia encourages you to buy your own Reaper today, and protect that which is rightfully yours!

History
Shortly after the Battle of Antei, Death's Head Consortium was rewarded with a contract by the sovereign goverment of the Yridia system to develop and produce kinetic energy weapons which had been demonstrated to be effective against Yuuzhan Vong biotechnology. Their premier product line focused on the TAW series slugthrowing infantry weapons, with the TAW-8GP "Reaper" its shining jewel. Reaper can be employed as either an offensive or defensive weapon against Yuuzhan Vong infantry attack. After some debate about visual concealment patterns, Death's Head factories have adopted a standard slate-gray pattern to their weapons to aid concealment in city or starship terrains.

Specifications
Some have called the Reaper the "best weapon ever invented." Soldiers and civilians alike swear by its reliability, accuracy, and lethality. Inexpensively constructed from stamped durasteel parts, the Reaper is an electrically fired rifle utilizing high-density metal slugs at a rate of 750 rounds per minute. Incorporating the "Stabilizer 5" inertial compensating system, the Reaper automatically adjusts point-of-aim utilizing a tiny repulsor system to check the effects of recoil on the user. The result is a lightweight (8 lbs loaded) combat rifle able to deliver up to 92% of its 75-cartridge magazine to the target and within a 3" circular area up to 400 meters distant while firing automatically. Magazines are both reliable and disposable if necessary. Provision for automatic, single shot, and quadruple-round burst are ambidextrously located next to the trigger. Magnetic guides near the magazine well ensure easy magazine loading during high-stress combat situations.

Reaper fires a high velocity 8mm slug made from a proprietary heavy metal mined in the Yridia system. At distances of 100 meters or less, Reaper can achieve single-shot penetrations or partial penetrations against Yuuzhan Vong armor. At further distances out to 400 meters, partial penetrations are common, and repeated impacts will eventually defeat vonduun crab armor. Built-in sighting devices enable the user to choose between a "battle zoom" (2x magnification) and infrared views. Linkups to user-worn heads up helmet displays are featured by default. A friendly-fire system links up with battlefield command nets and prevents the user from shooting his comrades by accident - a feature upon which praise has been lavished after close-combat encounters with the Vong. Users have reported relatively light muzzle flash and a sharp but brief report, which are both considered psychologically advantageous in combat.

A relatively rare subtype of this rifle features a lengthened barrel and higher magnification (8x magnification) optic and infrared zoom for distinguished marksmen of the infantry who are not snipers. Snipers use the dedicated TAW-25-LR heavy rifle.

This weapon is currently being mass-produced as the standard weapon of Tarentum infantry.

Trivia
A relatively uncommon subtype of this rifle features a lengthened barrel, single-shot only, and a higher magnification (8x) optic and infrared zoom for distinguished marksmen of the infantry who are not snipers.

The result is a lightweight (8 lbs loaded) combat rifle able to deliver its entire 75-cartridge magazine to its target and within a 3" circular area up to 400 meters distant while firing automatically.

The TAW-6A Autopistol is a self-loading slugthrowing weapon designed by Tarentum Armament Works. Firing a relatively low-velocity 6mm heavy metal slug, the TAW6 is primarily employed as a secondary or defensive weapon against infantry based attacks.

The TAW-6A Autopistol is a self-loading slugthrowing weapon designed by Tarentum Armament Works. Firing a relatively low-velocity 6mm heavy metal slug, the TAW6 is primarily employed as a secondary or defensive weapon against infantry based attacks.

Featuring rigidly stamped durasteel construction, relatively high cyclic firing rates, repulsor-based inertial compensators, and a variety of other combat-enhancing devices, the TAW6 is essentially an antique weapon revived with modern technology.

While the 6mm slug the TAW6 fires is relatively light and slow compared to its rifle or machine-gun based brethren, it has proven to perform adequately against Yuuzhan Vong warrior body armor.
I remember in the EH he was a HA. He was... either Grand Inquisitor or a regular Inquisitor once. The VAC design was never intended for such a feat and the Necrosis was badly damaged when it plowed into the dark earth of Antei. Tarentum has elected to leave the vessel where it remains as a memorial to bravery. The atmospheric drop of an entire company of repulsortanks halted Tarentum's legion but unexpecting enemies at the gates of the Dark Hall, buying allied Dark Jedi precious time to escape.
The small, barren world of Yridia IX serves as the center for commerce - both legitimate and illegal - for the Yridia System, making it one of the major economic centers in Minos Cluster connecting to the Trition Trade Route via the Orendai Trade Route. The planet's population is congregated into the sprawling metropolis know as Eden, which supports over 12 million denizens.

Geography
A very barren world, Yridia IX is heavily cratered, very cold, rocky, and icy. It has no atmosphere and no hydrosphere. However, the planet is made habitable by a huge artificial support system in the southern hemisphere. Effectively a force field, an energy barrier contains an artificially created atmosphere and keeps out dangerous radiation. It also acts as an effective insulator between the more temperate interior and the chilling, lifeless exterior. Several colossal solar mirrors held in geosynchronous orbit provide a semblance of daylight to those who live on the surface.

History
Yrida IX was colonized by speculative miners interested into tapping into the wealth of the lommite in the nearby Itaana Asteroid Belt. Unfortunately for the several smaller corporations that established themselves around the central starport, the cost of transporting the lommite back to the Inner Rim precluded them from making a significant profit. The majority of the corporate customers are primarily individuals, small Outer Rim based corporations, planetary governments, etc. When the Minos-Mestra Corporation was sold to regional holders, the Yridian corporations were able to set their own pricing and clientèle, earning a better profit when most of the Cluster was falling into an economic depression.

The conglomeration of cooperations on Yridia IX, along with their supporting residential and entertainment areas, developed around a starport of exceptional quality and facilities, considering its remote location in the galaxy. Almost every few minutes, various freighters, tugs, mining vehicles, pirate or smuggler ships can be found arriving or departing Eden, making Yridia IX one of the most active trading centers in the Minos Cluster. The Stellar-class starport serves corporate interests as well as the needs of illegitimate spacefarers; making it no surprise that Eden is attractive to organized crime which strongly contributed to the prosperity and growth of Yridia IX.

Over the past decade, a growing trend of high volume trade contacts and lucrative business opportunities have ushered Yridia into a new area of prosperity. Significant development and expansion has occurred, bringing financial institutions and increased urbanization to the growing metropolis.

Governance
Originally a participatory democracy, Yridia IX was later annexed into the Principality of Yridia. Yridia IX consists of one prefecture, which is solely comprised of the metropolis of Eden. The city itself is separated into seven distinct boroughs, each with its own character and highlights.

Entertainment
Because of its status as an popular trading hub, Yridia IX has developed a diverse array of entertainment; mostly in the form of a nightlife. The citizens of Yridia IX - as well as all of underworld visitors - have been know to regularly frequent the various bars, nightclubs, brothels (serving a variety of tastes) and gambling centers present in Eden. One of the more pupolar bars, the Flailed Wookie, even has a signed picture of Solo Han Solo and Chewbacca from their early days.

Deaths Head Consortium
Since the Yuuzhan Vong incursion into Brotherhood space, Clan Tarentum, one of the foremost of the Clans in military matters, has recognized a distinct need to reorganize to face the severe threat to the Brotherhood's existence. Accordingly, shortly after the disastrous Battle of Antei, Tarentum began a crash program to "de-re-modernize" her armed forces. While space-based forces could afford few changes for technical reasons, captured examples of Vong bio-technology were analyzed for their various weaknesses. The conclusion of Tarenti weapons scientists was shocking; the Vong had a high resistance to thermal energy, which limited the impact of lightsaber and blaster weapons which functioned on essentially the same principles. On the other hand, virtually all Yuuzhan Vong weaponry relies on kinetic impact to achieve destructive results. Now that we know that, during Vong history, they fought each other for many years, the conclusion is obvious - kinetic energy weapons can also be used to defeat the Vong.

Logistical Changes Bring Opportunity
In light of these revelations, the Death's Head Consortium - a conglomeration of Tarentum Armament Works (TAW), Tarentum Aerospace (TA), and Tarentum Armor & Heavy Industry Corp (TAHI) - has instituted a crash program to rearm the entirety of Tarentum's military with natively designed and produced kinetic energy weapons. Essentially a revival of the antiquated technology known as "slugthrowers", Tarenti scientists and armorsmiths have refined and improved this technology for both mass production and high kill rates against Yuuzhan Vong military elements. What follows is a list of basic technology thusfar introduced to combat the Yuuzhan Vong threat. While it is feared in some Tarenti circles that resorting to antiquated technology may prove a crippling disadvantage against other Clans' modern weaponry, proponents of the move cite that existing technology is so adapted to combating itself that slugthrowing weapons may be as or more effective than blasters against some types of targets. In addition, the lower technology requirements for the new weapons enable Tarentum industry to be both lower cost and more resilient to factory damage or loss.
Text from a recent sales pamphlet: The modern day is a terrifying age fraught with dangers. Extragalactic aliens run rampant throughout the galaxy unimpeded by the best warfighting technology the Republic or the Remnant has to offer. Who will protect you and your family? Death's Head Consortium is a conglomerate of three Yridia-based weapons manufacturers who have found and trademarked the solution to the biotechnology which the invaders would use to enslave you and the ones you love. Marketed to the discriminating planetary - or interplanetary - system government, Deaths Head armaments are cheaper than modern weapons, accurate, and deadly against Yuuzhan Vong biotechnology. Most of our weapons feature redundant ammunition standards across platforms, the latest in droid brain weapon guidance, and lethality in terminal effectiveness.
